In the early 1990’s, craft beer in Texas became a booming industry, centered around the legalization of brewpubs and a Belgian brewing icon turned Austinite. But it was an industry that got ahead of itself, and the excitement of the swell was followed by a steep crash and stagnation. Years later, as a new generation of brewers emerges, the Texas capital is rapidly becoming the fastest growing craft beer city in America. But these newcomers face their own business challenges, such as increasing competition and archaic Texas beer laws, as they attempt to turn Austin into the next craft beer destination.
